Do-It-Yourself Sugar Lip Scrub

Dry lips got you down?

After the dry winter months, get your lips ready for Spring.

I have the easiest lip scrub you can make at home in less than a minute.

Our lips go through a lot and they don’t always receive the love and care they need. Without proper care and attention, lips can become dry and chapped, especially as the seasons change. Through constantly changing temperatures, our lips are exposed to the environment every day.

Exfoliating with a Lip Scrub is excellent for softening and smoothing lips when your lips are dry and peeling from cold wind or prolonged sun exposure. It can also result in fresh, new skin that will leave our lips looking luscious and healthy. Your lips will feel better and lipstick will glide on more evenly.

A lip scrub is a simple and natural way to keep our ever so delicate lip skin soft, supple and healthy in any season. And, they are so easy to create from scratch!

Looking for a quick and affordable Do-it-Yourself recipe that is a simple and effective sugar lip scrub? One of my favorites uses Honey, Sugar, and Almond Oil.

HONEY SUGAR SCRUB

  • 1 teaspoon honey

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 teaspoon sweet almond oil which is rich in vitamin E

While you can use any kind of honey you like, I love using a delicious local, natural, and organic honey.

Mix ingredients together. Using your clean finger gently rub on your lips to exfoliate. You can leave on an additional five minutes and then remove with a washcloth.

Sugar is an effective natural exfoliant. Honey is a humectant, which helps attract and retain moisture. It's also an excellent and effective moisturizer.

Extra Tip: Extra Flavor

If you prefer to add a bit of variety to your lip sugar scrub, add one of your favorite essential oils such as Peppermint or Vanilla.

Bonus: They taste great!

Don't forget to follow up with a lip sunscreen and moisturizer for continued protection!

Sweet Almond Oil

Sweet Almond Oil is light + moderately absorbs into the skin. It’s an ideal cleansing oil for all skin types, even blemish-prone or sensitive skin.

Sweet Almond Oil is colorless + odorless, so it’s perfect for blending with essential oils as it preserves their original fragrance + benefits. This is an excellent oil to use for making cosmetics, massage oils or soaps.
